Belmont10-mile road race celebrates 50 years

If running a 10-mile road race is on your bucket list, then this is the year to check it off. You’ve got plenty of time for training as the race will be held on Aug. 11. It’s the longest, continuous road race still using the original course in the state of N.H. Our challenging course travels over several tree-lined back roads of Belmont and includes glimpses of Silver Lake, working pastures, and old rock walls. Runners will enjoy the mix of hilly terrain and flat stretches to prepare for the long hill toward the end of the course. Start and finish lines are located in the historic village area where we will be celebrating our annual Belmont Old Home Day. There are water stations located along the course and at the finish line. The entry fee of $18 includes a T-shirt for all participants. Prizes are awarded by age group, and all participants are included in a random drawing for additional prizes after the awards ceremony. Come be a part of our 50th race celebration. We would love to see some old, familiar faces from years past. Registration forms can be printed from the town of Belmont website at belmontnh.org or picked up in person at Belmont Town Hall on Main Street. If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Roberts, race director, at 491-0979 or Gretta Olson-Wilder, special events coordinator, at 998-3525.
