An Allenstown man is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home through a second-floor skylight and of threatening officers with a large butcher knife.

Angel Morales, 35, is charged with burglary, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief and breach of bail in connection with the incident in Hooksett early Friday morning.

Police responded to the area of 1465 Hooksett Road at about 1:51 a.m. for a report of a truck spinning its tires and loud banging.

Upon officers’ arrival, a woman called out that her ex-boyfriend, Morales, had broken into her home. Officers made contact with Morales at the entryway to the residence, where they say he became belligerent.

“Morales then leaned into the kitchen and grabbed a large butcher knife and began pointing it at officers and himself while refusing commands to drop it,” Hooksett police Sgt. Joseph Ducharme wrote. “Morales grabbed another large knife from the kitchen and continued to be aggressive and agitated.”

Officers used a Taser on Morales, but he was able to hold onto the knife and stay upright at the door, police said.

After being tased, he retreated inside the residence for a short time before a Hooksett dispatcher convinced him to surrender.

Morales was arraigned Friday in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord.
